Grilled Celeriac

Today, we have the simplest yet incredibly delicious BBQ side dish you can imagine. Fall has begun, and with it, the root vegetables are back in season. One of my favorites is celeriac, and you can prepare it wonderfully on the BBQ! Turn your BBQ night into a complete meal with this recipe. Give it a try!

  • 1 Celeriac
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Coarse Sea Salt

  • Fire up the BBQ, opting for a combination of direct and indirect heat, aiming for a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Take the celeriac, and thinly peel away the roots and skin. Slice the celeriac into pieces about a centimeter thick.
  • Brush both sides of the celeriac slices with olive oil and season them with black pepper and salt.
  • Is the BBQ at the right temperature? Then place the celeriac slices on the indirect part of the BBQ and close the BBQ lid. Cook the celeriac for approximately 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, move the celeriac slices to the direct heat part of the BBQ and grill them on both sides for a few minutes until a nice grill mark forms. Remove the slices from the BBQ and serve them immediately. Enjoy your meal!
