Occasionally, I also make desserts on the BBQ. Generally, the ideas for those come from my wife. Hence, the reason why the desserts are usually over the top and contain a lot of chocolate. This time, it was a skillet with a dough for chocolate chip cookies, with small pieces of marshmallows as an extra. Planning to make this dessert? Don’t go too big with your main course!

Pointed Peppers with Mozzarella & Tomato
A BBQ isn’t complete without a side dish for me. While a nice piece of meat from the BBQ is delicious, I also like to get some vegetables in, preferably cooked on the BBQ as well. Pointed bell peppers are among my favorite BBQ vegetables. They become deliciously sweet on the BBQ, and you can do so much with them. Stuff them, for example! I made delicious pointed bell peppers stuffed with tomatoes and mozzarella. A lovely side dish that turns your BBQ into a complete meal!
Grilled Pineapple with Coconut
A while back, I received “Simple Smart BBQ” by Julius Jaspers, a Dutch BBQ Book. However, a delicious recipe from the book shouldn’t be missed, and I quickly knew which one to choose. Julius often has the most enjoyable recipes for desserts and fruit on the BBQ, and this grilled pineapple with coconut was soon on my to-do list! The recipe isn’t entirely according to the book because I’m not the biggest fan of the liquor that is originally in the recipe . However, my version is definitely worth trying!
Grilled Potato Slices
I fire up the BBQ regularly, and of course, I then want to serve a complete meal. That’s why I often prepare side dishes on the BBQ as well, to make the meal complete. This time I grilled deliciously seasoned BBQ potato slices. A simple recipe, but oh so tasty alongside a steak or any other delicious piece of meat from the grill. And, also important, easy to combine on the grill with lots of other dishes!
Grilled Celeriac
Today, we have the simplest yet incredibly delicious BBQ side dish you can imagine. Fall has begun, and with it, the root vegetables are back in season. One of my favorites is celeriac, and you can prepare it wonderfully on the BBQ! Turn your BBQ night into a complete meal with this recipe. Give it a try!
Apple Crumble with Salted Caramel
A BBQ dessert truly completes a BBQ evening. Especially when you have guests over it’s fun to prepare everything on the BBQ. From appetizers and main courses to side dishes and a BBQ dessert. I previously made a BBQ apple crumble, and now I’ve taken it a step further with a BBQ apple crumble featuring salted caramel. It’s a delightful dessert that you should definitely try!
Coleslaw
Coleslaw. A simple recipe, but a salad that pairs well with BBQ. Coleslaw is a perfect companion for pulled pork, and I recently made it with pulled beef as well; it’s a salad that always complements the BBQ! Moreover, it’s a salad that’s super easy to prepare fresh and is also quickly ready.
Honey Mustard Onions
Another side dish that takes so little time to prepare, but is so delicious! These honey mustard onions are delicious alongside a perfectly cooked steak, but you can also use them as a topping for a delicious burger. And the temperature at which you cook them is pretty flexible, too. So it’s easy to combine them with other dishes. One thing is for sure; all your guests will love this!
Caramel Fudge Brownie
When I fire up the BBQ here I always try to make a variety of dishes. I am usually of the starters, main and side dishes and my partner often comes up with the ideas for desserts. Generally those desserts feature chocolate, dough or some other ingredient that is very filling. So regularly people leave here feeling that they may have eaten just a little too much.. Can happen! Such a delicious dessert as this Caramel Fudge Brownie is hard to pass up, right?
Jacket Potato
A jacketpotato is always very tasty and is regularly preferred by me over fries when I go out to eat. Great with a nice steak, a little lighter and fresher than fries with mayo and therefore the ideal side dish. And you can also easily make your own jacket potatoes on the BBQ. Take your time and use the last 10 minutes to grill a delicious steak.
Roasted Cauliflower
I think I start every recipe for vegetables from the BBQ the same way, but I’m just going to say it again: When I fire up the BBQ I try to cook a complete meal on it. Vegetables are part of that, but I notice that many people still find it difficult to prepare vegetables on the BBQ. Yes, a corn on the cob is okay and grilling some bell pepper is just fine. But that’s about it. And yet the possibilities are endless. A while back I saw a […]
Roasted Pumpkin
Besides nice cuts of meat, I always try to prepare some vegetables on the BBQ. That way you make a whole meal from the BBQ and you’re not just sitting around eating meat. Roasting vegetables on the BBQ is very easy and by going with the vegetables that the season has to offer you always make something different. This time I went for roasted pumpkin, with rosemary and garlic. Delicious!
